Chelsea cruise to Club World Cup win over LAFC | OneFootball

Chelsea showed their Premier League quality as they dispatched Los Angeles FC 2-0 in Atlanta.

In a game that started slowly, the Blues took the lead with just over half an hour to go when Nicolas Jackson sent in a ball down the channel for Pedro Neto.

The Portuguese winger still had plenty to do when he picked up the ball but he was able to cut inside, leaving Ryan Hollingshead on the ground before firing his effort low past former Tottenham Hotspur man Hugo Lloris.

With the score only at 1-0, LAFC had time to get back into it but Enzo Maresca's side were always the better of the two.

Just as the MLS team started to show some threat, Chelsea put the game to bed in the 79th minute when Liam Delap, on for his debut since joining from Ipswich Town, sent in a ball that Enzo Fernández converted from close range.

The Blues had time to bring on one more debutant in the final minutes when Dário Essugo, the young midfielder joining from Sporting, came on to get his first Chelsea minutes.

With that 2-0 win, Chelsea lead the group ahead of Flamengo taking on Espérance de Tunis.
