Chelsea are desperate to offload unwanted star Raheem Sterling this summer.

According to The Telegraph, the Blues are willing to consider a loan deal for the England international in a desperate attempt to cash in on as many as eight players in the next two weeks.

The 30-year-old winger spent last season on loan at Arsenal. He scored just once and weighed in with five assists in 28 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners.

While both Chelsea and the player would prefer a permanent solution to his future, the prospect of another temporary move has not been ruled out.

Sterling takes home £325,000 per week at Chelsea, making him one of the club’s highest earners.

His salary package is proving to be the biggest obstacle in his bid to leave Chelsea.

The Blues were forced to subsidise part of his salary during his loan spell at Arsenal, and they could be in the same position again if another deal is agreed.

Fulham have shown interest in Sterling, and the Cottagers could appeal to Sterling, whose family is settled in the English capital. West Ham United have also shown interest.

The England international wants to stay in the Premier League, ideally in London, although he hasn’t ruled out a potential move abroad.

Clubs abroad have also made enquiries about Sterling’s availability, but he wants to stay in London.

Sterling isn’t the only unwanted star Chelsea are desperate to sell before the transfer window closes.

The Blues are also working on potential exits for Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell and youngster Tyrique George.

Aaron Anselmino has admirers across Europe, but the club hasn’t decided whether to keep him as part of manager Enzo Maresca’s squad or ship him out on loan.

Sterling has two years remaining on his contract and has been training with Chelsea’s loan group rather than Maresca’s first-team squad.

His record at Stamford Bridge has been steady, if not spectacular. In his first season after leaving Manchester City, Sterling recorded nine goals and four assists in 38 games.

He followed that with 10 goals and 11 assists in 43 games before last year’s loan move to Arsenal.
