Chelsea suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League at the Amex Stadium on Tuesday.
Kaoru Mitoma could’ve broken the deadlock inside the opening three minutes, but Robert Sanchez palmed away his volley.
Ferdi Kadioglu reacted quickest from the resulting corner and rifled a volley home to open the scoring.
Jan Paul Van Hecke almost doubled the hosts’ lead after he met Gross’ cross, but Sanchez kept his effort out.
A poor error from Sanchez handed the ball to Yankuba Minteh, who picked out Jack Hinshelwood. Trevoh Chalobah cleared the ball off the line.
Romeo Lavia almost restored parity for the Blues after the break, but his effort from range flashed just past the post.
Hinshelwood doubled the Seagulls’ lead in the 56th minute, finishing off a blistering counter-attack.
Mitoma came close to scoring Brighton’s third after he teed himself up for a volley, but his effort flashed wide of the top corner.
Sanchez was then called into action, making two superb stops to thwart Kadioglu.
Alejandro Garnacho’s curling effort sailed wide of the far post as Chelsea searched for a way back into the game.
Danny Welbeck completed the scoring late in the game, finishing off De Cuyper’s cross.
Chelsea suffered fifth straight league defeat without scoring for the first time since 1912.
