Chelsea already have highly rated South American teenagers Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian arriving in the summer, but it’s not ending there.

Chelsea interested in Jorthy Mokio

The Blues agreed a deal with Strasbourg in January to sign 19-year-old defender Mamdou Sarr, who will also arrive in the summer, and they seemingly have their eyes on another teenager.

Caught Offside have reported the Blues along with Manchester City and Arsenal have sent scouts to watch 16-year-old Mokio in action for Ajax.

The report adds Chelsea are said to be the club who are most closely following Mokio’s development, and he’s already made three appearances in the Eredivisie and four in the Europa League this season.

The teenager is a versatile player who can play at both left back and in midfield, and he’s currently under contract with the Dutch giants until 2027.

Ajax have a rich history of bringing through young talent and the Belgian could possibly be the next one, and he’s already made his debut for the Belgium under-21 side.

Chelsea have also been linked with Mokio’s Ajax team-mate Jorrel Hato, with the Blues thought to be big fans of the 18-year-old left back.

It’s great to see the club continually looking to bring in the stars of the future, but fans will rightly be concerned about the lack of signings being made to improve the first team.

Ultimately the first team is the most important and it’s been a difficult time for Chelsea, who desperately need some experience and top quality in the team to get back to competing for major trophies again.
