There was wild celebrations yesterday for Chelsea as they came from behind to beat Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage.

The Blues came from a goal down to score two very late goals to win the game at Craven Cottage yesterday in what was a very dramatic game of ups and downs. But for 80 minutes, it was a lot of downs for Chelsea and the woes were continuing. Thankfully, they managed to get two late goals from individual brilliance to win the game.

EXCLUSIVE! Some Chelsea players not enjoying playing under Enzo Maresca this season!

Still, manager Enzo Maresca did not celebrate the Chelsea win over with the away fans like all the players did at the end of the game, which was very odd. But he has explained his reasoning for this in the post match press conference, although it wont wash.

The fans were furious throughout most of the game though and certainly let the manager and the players know this at half time and throughout the game. Pedro Neto responded to the fan anger in his post-match comments after the game last night.

Pressure stays on

Enzo Maresca will be feeling immense pressure still and he has lost a huge chunk of the Chelsea fan base even despite the win yesterday.

Nizaar Kinsella of The BBC explains:

“After weeks of negativity around Chelsea’s form and hostility from sections of supporters towards head coach Enzo Maresca, the players and fans celebrated as one – with the scenes carrying on long after the final whistle.

“And it all came just when Chelsea’s top-five challenge was in danger of fizzling out.

“Had Chelsea drawn, we would be talking about a club without a win in nine away matches, seventh in the table with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez’s struggling and several goalless forwards.

“After celebrating on the touchline, Maresca went down the tunnel rather than join his players and coaching staff in soaking in an important victory with the 3,000-strong away support.

“He will know Chelsea’s first-half performance left a lot to be desired at Craven Cottage, with the late goal showing the mission to return to the Champions League after two seasons away is still on a knife edge.”
