In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Chelsea have set their sights on Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers. It has been mentioned that the Blues are planning to move in for the English talent next year.
Rogers had a productive campaign at the West Midlands club after he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The English sensation participated in 54 matches for the Villans last season, scoring 14 times and earning 16 assists across all fronts.
The 23-year-old was a reliable presence in the opponent’s half as he averaged 1.59 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 36.4% of his attempts on target. Rogers even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 73.2% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the West Midlands club will run out in the summer of 2030. Thus, it won’t be easy for Chelsea to sign Rogers on the cheap next year.

Rogers is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can create a few inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third.
The English talent has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Chelsea. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play as a winger on either flank if asked to do so by his manager.
Rogers would bring more goals and assists to Enzo Maresca’s frontline. He has what it takes to earn a regular starting spot at the West London club in the coming seasons.
At 23, the best is yet to come from Rogers as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is already good enough to help the Blues challenge for some major honours over the next few years. Thus, Maresca should focus on going all out to snap him up this winter or at the end of this campaign.
