In a recent report on Substack, journalist Simon Phillips revealed that Chelsea have identified Sunderland forward Brian Brobbey as a target. It has been mentioned that the Blues are showing interest in recruiting the Dutch striker in this summer transfer period.
Brobbey has caught the eye at times with his performances as the focal point of Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris’ attack this season. The 24-year-old has scored seven times and picked up one assist in 29 matches for the Black Cats in this campaign across various competitions.
The Dutch sensation is currently one of the most sought-after strikers in the Premier League. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Blues are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Duch sensation this off-season.
His current contract at the Stadium of Light will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Chelsea to sign him on the cheap in the upcoming transfer window.

Brobbey excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can create the odd chance for others around him on the offensive end of the field.
The Dutch talent is a powerful runner with the ball at his feet up top. However, he needs to find a way to be more consistent in front of the opposition goal. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of recruiting someone with his skill set, so the Blues should focus on going all out to bring him on board this summer.
We can expect Brobbey to bring more firepower to Chelsea‘s frontline. He is good enough to compete with Liam Delap and Joao Pedro for a regular first-team spot at the West London club in the coming seasons.
At 24, Brobbey has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Blues to consider at the end of this campaign. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Chelsea. With all things considered, the Blues would be wise to go all out to snap him up later this year.
