Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca says Christopher Nkunku and Marc Guiu can both be involved in Sunday’s crucial game against Nottingham Forest.

It comes as a huge boost for Maresca, who is again without first choice striker Nicolas Jackson through suspension.

Maresca opted to start youngster Tyrique George up front against Manchester United in their last outing but will now have Nkunku and Guiu available to choose from.

“Yes, he (Christopher Nkunku) is working with us in the last days and Marc Guiu,” he said.

“Both can be available for the next game against Forest.”

Maresca also confirmed Reece James is available for the game.

“He (Reece James) is OK, he has his own plan,” he said. “We’ve tried to manage him also in the training session.”

Chelsea face fellow Champions League hopefuls Nottingham Forest on the final day knowing victory will confirm their place in next season’s competition.

“The minute you join Chelsea you feel the pressure,” Maresca said.

“You don’t need to play these kind of games to feel more pressure. I’ve felt pressure since I’ve joined the club because it is a club where you have to win games. We won many games this season but we need one more.

The Chelsea boss was, however, also critical over what he says is a lack of concern for player welfare, with the Blues playing a Conference League final next Wednesday just three days after the Forest game.

“I am not thinking about next season, I am thinking about the next two games,” he said.

“But for sure there is a chance we have players that, because of the amount of games, can be injured or tired and then we’ll see how we need to be.

“No one cares about player welfare. If they are going to be tired, then they are not going to play. How are you going to manage that? It’s simply like that. But I don’t think there is much attention about players. Otherwise, it’s not normal the amount of games they play.”
