Striker was sent for an early bath after a late challenge
Chelsea loanee Nicolas Jackson saw red during Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
Jackson, on loan at the German champions from Stamford Bridge, started up front for Vincent Kompany’s side at the BayArena, but was given his marching orders for a first-half lunge on Martin Terrier.
The Senegalese was given the nod to lead the line ahead of star striker Harry Kane, who sat amongst the substitutes as Bayern fell behind inside six minutes against die Werkself.
Jackson has played 24 games for Bayern during his loan spell, scoring seven goals.
Four of those have come in the German top flight, and three have come in the Champions League.
Most of those appearances have come as a substitute, with the 24-year-old playing second fiddle to former Tottenham striker Kane.
He moved to Bavaria in the summer, with Standard Sport reporting that Bayern would pay Chelsea a £14.3million loan fee, with a conditional obligation to buy for £56.3m.
Aleix Garcia put Kasper Hjulmand’s side ahead against the league leaders in Nordrhein-Westfalen, as Leverkusen chase a place in the top four.
Hjulmand’s men were dealt a late blow in the Champions League in midweek by Premier League leaders Arsenal, as Kai Havertz haunted his former club with a stoppage-time penalty to level proceedings in the pair’s last 16 first leg.
Leverkusen travel to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday looking to reach the quarter-finals, having lost their previous six last 16 ties.
