The future of Rodrygo Goes at Real Madrid has once again become a topic of discussion after a summer filled with exit links which did not pan out.

The 24-year-old forward has struggled for relevance despite opting to stay and fight for his place in Xabi Alonso’s team, failing to make an impact even after being used in his preferred role on the left flank.

As such, rumours of a potential departure, as early as the upcoming January transfer window, are once again doing the rounds.

No interest from Chelsea

Reports from Brazil had even suggested that Premier League heavy spenders Chelsea were pursuing a move for Rodrygo.

However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, there is zero truth to the speculations, with Chelsea not having an interest in signing the Real Madrid forward at this point.

Indeed, the Blues are not in contact with Rodrygo or his camp, or Real Madrid, over a possible transfer and have no plans of making any move either.

The Brazilian international is someone that they respect, but are not interested in adding to their squad, despite reports in Brazil suggesting otherwise.

The 24-year-old attacker had attracted interest from Manchester City back in the summer, but nothing came of it.

And Romano states that Pep Guardiola remains an admirer of the Real Madrid ace, but the Cityzens have also not revisited their interest in him at this point in time.

So far this season, Rodrygo has played 13 times in all competitions for Real Madrid, but only three of them have been starts. The attacker has failed to score a single goal and has two assists to his name.

Given his situation, it will be interesting to see if a January exit is on the cards for Rodrygo, but Chelsea, for one, have no interest in signing him as things stand.
