Chelsea are reportedly now scouting a midfielder who currently plays for Ajax, but they have competition from big English clubs.
As per CaughtOffside, Arsenal are one of a number of Premier League sides monitoring Ajax teenager Jorthy Mokio.
The report claims that as well as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all scouted the 17-year-old defensive midfielder.
The midfielder joined Ajax Under-21s last summer having progressed through the youth academy of Belgian side Gent, and he has since made 22 appearances for the Dutch giants at senior level.
La Liga clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona are also both said to have sent scouts to watch the teenager.
Even though the player is just 17, the report is claiming that it could take a fee of £20-25 million to get him from Ajax, something that I’m not sure all the above clubs would be willing to pay just yet.
Chelsea may actually be willing to pay that fee you know. They will do it for the right player that they have a lot of belief in, such as Estevao Willian who has already hit the ground running in the Premier League since arriving at Chelsea this summer.

They certainly know how to spot good young talents, so if Chelsea have scouts watching Mokio then you can safely bet that he’s going to become a pretty good player.
Clubs scouts so many players every week so it’s probably just one of those scouting stories for now. I’m sure the player will be watched a lot more this season by all clubs including Chelsea. Then we will see if anything develops for him soon enough.
