Chelsea player “doesn’t look capable” of consistent season says top BBC pundit

For a guy who always had the air of a buffoon around him as a player, former Man City goalkeeper Joe Hart has actually become a great pundit, and we really enjoy him when he’s on BBC 5Live’s Monday Night Club.

This week Robert Sanchez was the main topic, so Hart was in his element. He said similar things to what we’ve been saying about our number one.

Former England keeper on Sanchez issues

“He’s very athletic, and on his day, he’s a dominant goalkeeper. He comes for things. He’s very, very springy. He’s a big, tall man, and he makes electric saves when his day is flying.”

“Unfortunately, as a goalkeeper, especially in the Premier League at the top, you can’t just be an on his day player. You’re not a striker. You can’t just score a goal and then be horrendous for the rest of the game, and no one really cares about it.”

That’s what we’ve said all along. There’s no point making a 3 great saves if you’re going to pass the ball straight to the opposition or give away a penalty immediately afterwards.

“That will never go away from him. That will just never go until he can have a rock-solid season, and Robert Sanchez just doesn’t look like he’s capable of that at the moment.”

Jorgensen set for another chance between the sticks for Blues

Tonight, Filip Jorgensen gets a go in goal, but we don’t expect too much from him either. His hesitancy when replacing Sanchez on Saturday was a reminder that he’s not a better option than the Spaniard. Oddly, his issues are similar – good shot stopping but bad decisions.

It’s going to be Mike Penders one day, or another dip into the market if we don’t sort this out.

We wonder how many points we will have fumbled away by the time that day comes around?
