Blues were sloppy at both ends of the pitch on another frustrating afternoon against Ipswich

Chelsea dropped two potentially crucial points in their hunt for Champions League football as a 2-2 home draw with relegation-threatened Ipswich Town left them fifth in the Premier League.

Ipswich went into the break 2-0 up after goals from Julio Enciso and Ben Johnson.

The Blues responded immediately with Axel Tuanzebe turning into his own net just 17 seconds after the restart, but they scored just once more through Jadon Sancho’s stunning leveller from distance.

The dropped points could be significant for the Blues.

Robert Sanchez 4

Poor distribution in which he played the ball too quickly and Chelsea often lost it. Conceded two pretty poor goals.

George Hirst cut inside him too easily in the second half for a shot. Tackled well at times.

Won a huge number of challenges and was not at fault for what went wrong at Stamford Bridge.

Played one very poor early pass into midfield and was substituted at half-time.

Got in his team-mates’ way a couple of times in the first half but had a greater impact after the interval. Missed a glorious late chance to win it.

As ever, made some exceptional tackles which stopped Ipswich attacks at source. Passed well.

Ran at Ipswich whenever he could and assisted the Tuanzebe own goal with an inviting ball into the six-yard box.

Picked up an assist but looked really off it again, far from at his electric best, often choosing not to shoot from presentable positions.

At times moved the ball too slowly. Nearly scored a screamer and kept at it.
