Chelsea are readying a move to finally sign a historical defensive target in the form of Jules Kounde from Barcelona.

Apparently, Kounde might finally be available to sign from Barcelona this summer, years after Chelsea were involved in a dramatic transfer story when the player was at Sevilla and move to the La Liga giants from there.

Kounde could be looking to make a move away from the Catalan side this coming summer when the transfer window reopens again in Europe.

In fact, Barcelona have allegedly made the defender ‘available’ at the end of the season.

Caught Offside are reporting the story as an exclusive via their own sources on The Daily Briefing. They claim that Chelsea are preparing an “aggressive” push to sign Jules Kounde this summer.

The report goes on to say that Barcelona have made him available and other Premier League clubs are also on alert.

It also states that Chelsea now have some openness to adding more experience if deal is right, but Kounde currently looks too expensive.

In other news today…

After recent injury struggles, Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer says he is feeling much better now in news that will be very nice to hear for Blues fans. Palmer wore the captains armband for the club at the weekend, and they need him fit and firing.

Palmer also says the 7-0 thrashing of Port Vale on Saturday night will give everyone a much needed lift going into a crucial run of games for the rest of the season.
