After beating Port Vale in the FA Cup on Saturday, Chelsea have a free week before their Premier League run in gets cracking. There are seven league games left, almost all of them really challenging. So how are the Blues shaping up?

Chelsea goalkeeper situation resolves itself – perhaps too late

Let’s start in goal. The messy situation in nets has cost us a lot this season once again, in part because of our poor options there, but also because of Liam Rosenior’s mis-management of the situation.

The only positive is that things made themselves very simple with the news of surgery for Filip Jorgensen. It allowed Rosenior to put Robert Sanchez back into the team without too many questions, and we’d expect the Spaniard to stay there for these remaining games, even once Jorgensen is fit again.

Sanchez had about an easy a game as he could hope for on Saturday, but the same won’t be the case against Man City and Man U in the weeks to come.

In other news…

Reece James will be back from injury in a months’ time, according to the latest report from the Guardian on his hamstring problem.

Estevao was called a “real plus” by Liam Rosenior, who had the Brazilian available on Saturday to start for the first time since mid-February.
