Chelsea are prepared to allow Nicolas Jackson to leave on loan if clubs agree to a substantial loan fee and obligation to make the move permanent.
Jackson is exploring his options after Chelsea signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap as centre-forward options this summer. Though Chelsea are not actively looking to offload Jackson, the forward is free to leave if a suitable offer arrives.
Aston Villa are weighing up an approach to sign Jackson, with Unai Emery open to a reunion with the player. Emery previously worked with Jackson at former club Villarreal and is keen to bring in competition for Ollie Watkins before September’s deadline.
Newcastle United and AC Milan are also keeping an eye on Jackson’s situation at Chelsea.
Chelsea value the 24-year-old at £80m, a price tag that is prohibitive for suitors as things stand. However, the West Londoners are willing to accept a loan deal if the conditions are right.
Journalist Ben Jacobs is reporting that Chelsea will demand a loan fee of £10m and that any temporary deal contains a mandatory purchase option. Any potential deal could hinge on Chelsea’s willingness to drop their valuation below £70m.
Jackson has scored 30 goals in 81 games across all competitions and netted in last season’s Europa Conference League final win over Real Betis.
