Pedro Neto has been spotted in Chelsea training ahead of the Premier League showdown with Nottingham Forest.
Neto, along with key midfield pair Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, has emerged as a doubt for the trip to the City Ground on Saturday after missing Thursday’s session at Cobham.
Upon confirming a double injury blow for Cole Palmer and Benoit Badiashile in the pre-match press conference, Enzo Maresca also issued an update on the aforementioned trio.
“Unfortunately, Benoit will be out until December,” Maresca told reporters. “A muscular problem. He was doing fantastically. We're going to wait for him.
“Moi, Enzo and Pedro, they didn't take part in the session yesterday. We'll see if they are going to train today. Otherwise, they will [be out for Nottingham Forest].”
Chelsea have been keeping things under wrap on social media ever since Maresca’s update on Friday morning, with a training video showing the arrivals of Neto and Fernandez, though not of the pair taking part in the session.
However, one eagle-eyed user on X (formerly Twitter) has spotted Neto in training ahead of the Forest game, noting that Fernandez was also present.
The Chelsea team to face Nottingham Forest will be announced at 11.15am BST, ahead of kick-off at 12.30pm.
Victory for the Blues will see them leapfrog Manchester City in the Premier League table, albeit potentially for only a couple of hours with Pep Guardiola’s side in action against Everton later in the day.
Chelsea have not tasted defeat at the City Ground since January 1997, claiming all three points in the corresponding fixture on the final day of last season to clinch Champions League qualification.
