Chelsea team news vs Everton

The Blues only have one new injury worry to contend with after Malo Gusto became the latest Chelsea player to suffer a hamstring problem.

The right-back replaced Reece James at half-time during the Fulham game but had to be forced off with just minutes left at Craven Cottage after struggling with the issue.

Chelsea are still hoping to have Marc Guiu back at some point before the end of the season, but the game against Everton will unfortunately come too soon for him.

Wesley Fofana and Omari Kellyman are both out for the rest of the season after suffering their own hamstring issues, while Mykhailo Mudryk remains suspended.

George can keep knocking at the door

While youngster Tyrique George might not yet be a first team mainstay in Maresca’s side, he is continuing to impress after his goal last week and the Italian cannot hide his admiration for the teenager.

“Sometimes you also have to be a little bit lucky and I think Tyrique’s goal gave us an extra energy, an extra boost,” he said after the game.

Chelsea will need all the extra energy they can get as they look to chase down Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United and snatch one of the last Champions League spots.

George is a dangerous weapon Chelsea can utilise off the bench after netting two goals in his last three games. He is yet to start a Premier League game for the team this season but if he continues impressing when given the chance, it shouldn’t be long before Maresca turns to him from the off.
