Chelsea ‘to sign’ Kerim Alajbegovic for around €42 million after Benfica interest | OneFootball

Kerim Alajbegovic, the 18-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina attacking midfielder previously on Benfica’s radar, is close to joining Chelsea, with club-to-club talks still required.

According to Glorioso 1904, Alajbegovic has agreed personal terms on a contract running to 2033, and the fee would be around €42 million including add-ons. Negotiations between Chelsea and RB Salzburg must be concluded before any announcement.

Alajbegovic excelled for RB Salzburg last season, delivering 13 goals and four assists in 44 appearances and catching the eye across Europe.

His form earned a senior call-up for 2026 World Cup qualifying, and he scored in a 3-1 win over Qatar.

The proposed package would represent another sizeable investment by Chelsea in high-potential youth.

If completed in the coming days, the move would be the biggest step of his career, taking him into the Premier League. At Stamford Bridge, he would compete to establish himself in a squad rich in talent.
