Big-spending Blues splashed nearly twice as much as any other English top-flight club

Chelsea have once again finished top of the agent fees list, meaning they spent more money on fees paid to player representatives than any other Premier League club.

The Blues paid £65.1million out in agent fees over the period covering February 4, 2025 and February 2, 2026, according to figures published by the FA on Wednesday.

Chelsea were top of the list last year, too, and their spending went up by £4.7m this year from £60.4m.

Premier League clubs spent a total of £460.3m on agent fees over the past year, representing a significant increase from last year’s level, which sat at £409m.

The next-biggest spenders after Chelsea were Aston Villa, who paid out £38.4m to player representatives.

That means Chelsea's spending on agent fees is almost double that of any other Premier League club for the same period, and is attributed internally to their record level of first-team player sales last summer.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United all spent more than £30m on agent fees, as did Premier League leaders Arsenal, who paid out £32.1m.

Among the players listed in the FA’s list of agent transactions within the referenced period is Mykhailo Mudryk, who is suspended from involvement in the Chelsea first team after failing a drugs test.

The transaction referenced is quoted as having been an “updated contract” handled by his agent Vadym Shablii between February 2025 and February 2026.

While their expenditure over the last year far surpassed any of their Premier League rivals, Chelsea still splashed less than the league-high £75.1m they spent on agent fees in the period from February 2023 to February 2024.
