"Blown out of proportion" - Rosenior on Chelsea's pre-match huddle showing 'unity'
Holders Paris Saint-Germain are strongly placed to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals after a 5-2 first leg win left Chelsea needing to launch a fightback.
An entertaining affair in Paris was in the balance until Khvicha Kvaratskhelia struck twice in the final five minutes to secure a sizeable advantage from which tonight’s hosts may struggle to recover. It was another performance that showed the array of attacking talent within the PSG ranks as they target the defence of their European crown.
Chelsea, though, showed that they possess plenty of forward threat, too, though a 1-0 domestic defeat to Newcastle was a real set-back. Liam Rosenior is also without his captain tonight after Reece James suffered a hamstring issue, and the London club face a huge ask if their continental campaign is to continue.
Chelsea are winless in their last five Champions League games against Paris SG (D2 L3); their joint-longest winless run against an opponent in the competition (also 5 v Bayern Munich – April 2005 to September 2025).
PSG are unbeaten in their last five games against English teams in the Champions League (W4 D1), and could go six in a row without defeat against them in the competition for the first time here.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has said that a decision is still pending regarding the team's pre-match huddle ahead of their crucial Champions League last-16 second leg against Paris St Germain on Tuesday.
The ritual sparked farcical scenes ahead of Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle when referee Paul Tierney became inadvertently trapped within the circle of players.
Rosenior reiterated his stance that the huddle is not designed to intimidate or cause annoyance.
However, he declined to confirm whether the practice would be repeated as his side prepares to face PSG, needing to overcome a significant 5-2 deficit from the first leg at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea winger Pedro Neto has escaped a ban for pushing a ball boy in last week’s Champions League defeat at Paris Saint-Germain.
Neto pushed the ball boy off his chair in the closing stages of Chelsea’s 5-2 defeat in the first leg of their last-16 tie at Parc des Princes, as he tried to retrieve the ball, sparking a melee between players from both sides.
The Portuguese apologised both on and off camera and gave the ball boy his shirt, and after an investigation by the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body, Uefa has opted to only issue a warning to Neto for “unsporting conduct”.
