"Blown out of proportion" - Rosenior on Chelsea's pre-match huddle showing 'unity'

Holders Paris Saint-Germain are strongly placed to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals after a 5-2 first leg win left Chelsea needing to launch a fightback.

An entertaining affair in Paris was in the balance until Khvicha Kvaratskhelia struck twice in the final five minutes to secure a sizeable advantage from which tonight’s hosts may struggle to recover. It was another performance that showed the array of attacking talent within the PSG ranks as they target the defence of their European crown.

Chelsea, though, showed that they possess plenty of forward threat, too, though a 1-0 domestic defeat to Newcastle was a real set-back. Liam Rosenior is also without his captain tonight after Reece James suffered a hamstring issue, and the London club face a huge ask if their continental campaign is to continue.

PSG team news

Just the one change for PSG, with last week’s game-changer Khvicha Kvaratskhelia replacing Bradley Barcola on the left wing.

Chelsea team news leak correct

Reaction to the team news from Lawrence Ostlere, who’s in place at Stamford Bridge tonight:

“So the team leak today in French outlet Onze Mondial was correct.

“Fofana is on the bench after a scratchy couple of games, and Rosenior has gone with something of a makeshift back four of Chalobah-Sarr-Hato-Cucurella.

“Andrey Santos lines up in midfield alongside Caicedo, with Fernandez as the No 10, Pedro Neto on the left and Palmer off the right. Joao Pedro leads the line and Sanchez is back in goal after Jorgensen was preferred, regrettably, in Paris.”
