Heading into the summer transfer window, FC Barcelona are keeping an eye on the left-back market.
With there being question marks over the continuity of Alejandro Balde at the club, Deco & co. have explored potential alternatives. And another La Masia trainee, Marc Cucurella of Chelsea, has emerged as a target.
There have been contacts with the 27-year-old Spain left-back’s camp over a possible return to his boyhood club in the summer as well.
Now, according to the Daily Mail (h/t AS), Chelsea will not stand in the way of Cucurella’s exit if a good offer arrives for him in the summer.

The Blues are happy with the left-back’s performances, but will not stop his departure if that is what the player wishes in the summer.
As per the report, Cucurella is keen on a return to Spain in the summer, with Barcelona, as well as their rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid also keeping tabs on his situation.
However, despite Barcelona’s interest in Cucurella, a move could take place only if there is an exit from the current defensive roster.

The Blaugrana are already working on securing Joao Cancelo’s services permanently. So, if Cucurella arrives, it will be only if one of Balde or Jules Kounde leave.
In case of Balde’s exit, the Chelsea defender will compete with Cancelo for the left-back position. If it is Kounde who leaves, Cancelo would move to the right-back position while Cucurella and Balde battle it out on the left side.
