Premier League rivals Chelsea are reportedly prepared to pay what Manchester United are demanding to part ways with winger Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho has been linked with a shock move away from United this month, with Chelsea and Napoli mentioned as the clubs with the strongest interest in signing him if he were to be made available for transfer.

The Argentine has been unable to find his feet under Ruben Amorim, even as United’s struggles on the pitch persist.

Amidst United’s desperate need to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, it has been suggested that a sum of £60million could convince the Red Devils to sanction Garnacho’s sale, even though they’re not actively looking to offload him.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently stated that Chelsea had made “direct contact” to explore the possibility of getting a deal for Garnacho over the line.

The forward’s agent fuelled further speculation that Garnacho could join the Blues before the end of the month after he posted a picture of himself at Stamford Bridge while in attendance for Chelsea’s Monday evening meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Now, according to a relatively reliable source on United news, MUFC Academy, Chelsea are poised to step up their pursuit of Garnacho.

MUFC Academy wrote on X, “Exclusive: Understand that Chelsea are willing to meet the demands of Alejandro Garnacho and Manchester United.”

“Chelsea are tempted to bid £60.5m for Garnacho. No surprise the agents of Garnacho are at the Chelsea game tonight. Napoli must bid now but this is agent tactics.”

“Garnacho made his decision and the last few hours and as already reported, Garnacho has agreed personal terms with Napoli, confirmed. He’s open to leaving.”

“Both Chelsea and Napoli are moving very fast and we could see a completion of this deal at the end of the week.”

The 20-year-old has three-and-a-half years remaining on his United deal, having signed an extension back in 2023.
