Blues are without their captain as they face season-defining run-in
Chelsea will be without a number of key players for their crucial Premier League fixture at Everton on Saturday.
The Blues head to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time knowing they face a fight in the remaining eight league games of the campaign to secure Champions League football for themselves next term.
Liam Rosenior is therefore expected to name a strong team, which could include a return for Estevao, who has not played since the middle of last month due to a hamstring injury.
The Brazilian was on the bench for Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat at home to Paris Saint-Germain but did not make it onto the field. He is likely to feature in some form, either from the start or as a substitute.
Reece James remains out with a hamstring of his own, though Rosenior has explained it is “not serious” and will be more closely monitored after the international break.
Trevoh Chalobah is expected to miss around six weeks with the high ankle sprain that forced him off late on against PSG. Filip Jorgensen has had minor surgery on a groin injury so is unavailable, as is Levi Colwill who is training following an ACL injury but will not play yet for a good few weeks.
Malo Gusto missed the PSG defeat with illness but trained on Thursday and should return to the starting lineup at right-back.
There could be another run out at centre-back for Jorrel Hato, while Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez will be good to go after being taken off with half an hour to go on Tuesday to give them a rest.
It is unclear whether Jamie Gittens is available.
Chelsea predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Hato, Cucurella; Santos, Caicedo; Palmer, Fernandez, Neto; Joao Pedro
Injured: James, Colwill, Chalobah, Jorgensen
Doubt: Gittens
Time and date: 5:30pm GMT on Saturday March 21, 2026
Venue: Hill Dickinson Stadium
