Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos (21) has expressed his affection for Strasbourg and his former coach Liam Rosenior, revealing that he continues to follow the Ligue 1 side closely since his return to England. Speaking in a press conference on Tuesday transcribed by l’Équipe, the Brazilian looked back fondly on his six-month loan spell at the Stade de la Meinau earlier this year, during which he made 13 appearances under Rosenior.“Liam (Rosenior)… I love my former coach. He’s amazing,” said Santos. “When I joined Strasbourg, he helped me so much and I improved a lot with him. Two weeks ago, I sent him a message because I still watch Strasbourg’s matches. I told him my baby was about to be born — he congratulated me and said he was very happy for me. Our relationship is perfect.”“I’m very happy to be the first to make the step from Strasbourg to Chelsea. This season they have a lot of quality players — Mamadou Sarr, Mike Penders and Emmanuel Emegha. It’s important for us to have both clubs,” he explained. “When I was at Strasbourg, people from Chelsea always sent me messages to check how I was doing. That relationship gives us confidence when we come here.”Santos returned to Stamford Bridge this summer after his loan spell in Alsace, and has since made 11 appearances for the Blues under Enzo Maresca.GFFN | George Boxall
