Chicago Fire ‘to rival’ AC Milan for Bayern midfielder Leon Goretzka | OneFootball

According to The Athletic, Chicago Fire are attempting to rival AC Milan for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.

The MLS club have opened talks with the Bundesliga champions, after recent weeks had pointed towards a move to Milan.

Goretzka is currently at the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

The franchise, once represented by Bastian Schweinsteiger, remain among the contenders, but whether he opts for elite European football or a Stateside switch remains unclear.

The 31-year-old could even be joined by his former team-mate, Poland striker Robert Lewandowski.
