The countdown is on, Nación Rojiblanca! This Sunday, Chivas Femenil will begin its Apertura 2026 campaign with the same goal that drives the team every semester: to be among the league’s top contenders and compete for the Liga MX Femenil title.
The Rebaño Sagrado will open the tournament against Querétaro. While the head-to-head history already favors Guadalajara, there’s an even more impressive trend working in the Rojiblancas’ favor. When it comes to Matchday 1, Chivas Femenil has been one of the league’s most consistent teams since the competition was founded.
In 18 Liga MX Femenil season openers, the Rebaño has suffered just one defeat. That’s right, Chivahermanos: the Rojiblancas have earned points in the other 17, posting 15 wins and 2 draws. To make that even more impressive, Guadalajara has won its opening match in each of the last 13 tournaments—more than six consecutive years of starting the season with three points.
The Rojiblancas have also been remarkably consistent in front of goal. Chivas has scored in each of its 18 season openers, tallying 42 goals for an average of 2.3 goals per opening match.
At the other end of the field, defensive solidity has been just as important. Guadalajara has kept 10 clean sheets in those 18 opening fixtures while conceding only 9 goals in total—an average of just one goal allowed every two tournaments. If that isn’t enough, the Rojiblancas have not conceded in a season opener for the last three years. The last goal they allowed on Matchday 1 came in the Apertura 2023, when they drew 1-1 with Xolos.
Finally, there’s one more factor that strengthens the equation: home-field advantage. Whenever the Rebaño begins a new campaign at home, the results have been nearly flawless. Chivas Femenil has opened the Liga MX Femenil season at home on 10 occasions, recording 9 wins and just 1 draw.
