Guadalajara were crowned champions of the Torneo Primavera 2026. With a more than outstanding performance, thrashing Pachuca 3-0 on Field 1 of the Mexican Football Federation, Chivas Sub 14 established themselves as the best team in the Liga MX youth competition, proving on the pitch why the Cantera Rojiblanca is considered the best in the country.
The dominance of el Rebaño was clear, as they scored 9 goals and conceded just 3 throughout the Final Phase. In the Grand Final, they faced the best defensive side in the tournament, as Pachuca had not allowed a single goal. However, el Rebaño rose to the occasion and delivered a commanding performance against the Hidalgo side.
On top of that, Mateo Ayala claimed the tournament’s Golden Boot with 6 goals.
What was the road to the title like?
In the Quarterfinals, Guadalajara defeated Pumas 3-1 in a match they controlled from the opening minutes with high pressing and intensity. That superiority quickly reflected on the scoreboard, with goals from Ángel Ayala in the 2nd minute and Lucas López in the 6th. Later, in the 30th minute, Ángel Ayala completed his brace to secure the Rojiblanco qualification.
In the Semifinals, el Rebaño faced a highly demanding match, defeating Rayados de Monterrey 3-2. The hosts opened the scoring in the 31st minute, but the Rojiblanco response came quickly: Ángel Ayala equalized in the 42nd minute and Diego Montaño turned the match around in the 57th. Although Rayados leveled the score in the 60th minute, Axel Montaño appeared shortly after to score the winning goal and seal the ticket to the Final.
In the Grand Final, Chivas displayed their best version and defeated Pachuca 3-0. Carlos Castañeda opened the scoring with a stunning free kick in the 40th minute. Later, Ángel Ayala extended the lead in the 56th minute after a great play by Jesús Ochoa, and just a minute later, Ángel Martínez sealed the championship with the third Rojiblanco goal.
This achievement represents a firm step in the developmental process of the Cantera Rojiblanca and reaffirms Club Deportivo Guadalajara’s commitment to developing young talent with great potential.
Congratulations, champions!
