Manchester United would have ideally liked to bring in a goalscoring winger from within the Premier League.

Iliman Ndiaye of Everton emerged as a concrete target, but the Toffees seem hellbent on not losing their talisman in the summer.

RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande is another name on the wishlist, but Liverpool are currently leading the race, with the Bundesliga side set to ask for a whopping €100 million.

The Ivorian lacks Premier League experience, which the next name on the list does not. Christian Pulisic, a former Champions League winner with Chelsea, has also attracted the interest of the Red Devils.

And for good reason. Since leaving these shores for AC Milan, the American has taken his game to the next level.

He scored 15 goals in his debut season, followed by 17 strikes last term. The 27-year-old has continued his brilliant form this campaign as well, registering 10 goals in all competitions already.

The Peoples Person had relayed that the US international was keen to return to the English top flight, with a price tag of €70-80 million mooted.

However, according to Football Insider, the Rossoneri do not want to part ways with their talisman and are keen to reject any and all bids, with interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur growing by the minute.

But for that to happen, they must qualify for the Champions League next season. They are currently second in the Serie A standings.

“AC Milan are likely to snub offers for Christian Pulisic this summer amid interest from both Arsenal and Tottenham, sources have told Football Insider.

“Manchester United have also shown an interest in the US forward alongside the pair of North London rivals, but Milan are hoping that Champions League qualification will be enough to persuade the 27-year-old to stay put.

“The former Chelsea star is set to enter the final year of his contract at San Siro at the end of the season, but Milan hold a potentially crucial option to extend that deal by a further year.”

Is he the best fit?

The form of Christian Pulisic is praiseworthy, but INEOS will do well to remember the ex-Borussia Dortmund ace’s struggles during his time at Stamford Bridge.

After failing to hit the heights expected of him, the Blues opted to cut their losses. Excelling in Serie A is not always the best barometer of success, as United very well know already.
