AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic has been named as a potential transfer target for Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Ruben Amorim is currently assessing his squad after arriving from Sporting Lisbon as the club’s new head coach before transfer plans are formulated. On the agenda is believed to be a wide player with Antony’s future at the club uncertain.

A disappointment since his £82m arrival from Ajax, the Brazilian could be the first big casualty of the Amorim era. Pulisic has been named as a potential replacement with the Red Devils tracking the former Chelsea winger.

The USA international has shone since leaving West London for Milan and was named in the Serie A Team of the Season after scoring 15 goals in all competitions for the Italian side last season. His return of 12 league goals saw him become the highest-scoring American in Serie A history.

Italian outlet Calciomercato claim the 26-year-old could become Amorim’s first signing as Manchester United manager, though there is competition from elsewhere in England.

Liverpool – who have held a long-standing interest in the American – have been named as a potential suitors, with West Ham United also keen on a potential deal.

Pulisic made 145 appearances for Chelsea after signing for the Blues from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of £58m in 2019.

He won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup with the West Londoners but was allowed to leave for Milan in a cut-price €22m deal after falling out of favour.

The winger has scored seven goals in 15 appearances during the current campaign and netted in Milan’s Champions League defeat to Liverpool at the San Siro.
