Fatih Karagümrük beat Kocaelispor 1-0 on Saturday in Kocaeli to climb from 18th to 17th in the Süper Lig, leaving the hosts down in 11th.

After Sérgio António de Luiz Junior went off injured, substitute Daniele Verde arced a cross that fellow replacement Anil Çınar glanced into the top right in the 70th minute.

Kocaelispor controlled 64.9% possession and attempted eight shots but failed to register one on target. Fatih Karagümrük mustered six attempts and found the target once.

Late on, Tayfur Bingöl fired over from the right side as the hosts chased an equaliser. Goalkeeper Furkan Beklevic claimed well under pressure, and the visitors' defence saw the game out.
