Paris FC have made five signings to steady their Ligue 1 campaign and plan ahead, led by Ciro Immobile and 17-year-old Rudy Matondo. The promoted club completed three loans and two permanent deals, adding two forwards, two midfielders and a centre-back.

L'Équipe reports that Paris FC paid €17m to Auxerre for Matondo and offered €25m to Angers for Sidiki Chérif, who instead joined Fenerbahçe in Türkiye.

With Jean-Philippe Krasso on two goals and Willem Geubbels on three in the league, a striker was the priority, and Immobile, 35, with 207 goals in 340 games for Lazio Rome, signed on Sunday.

The Italy international had limited minutes at Bologna in the first half of the season, six Serie A appearances without scoring, so there is understandable caution over his impact. He joined on a free for this season with an option for another year and could be in the squad for the Coupe de France last 16 at Lorient on Wednesday.

Loans were favoured beyond Immobile and Matondo, with winger Luca Koleosho, 21, midfielder Marshall Munetsi, 29, and centre-back Diego Coppola, 22, arriving on temporary deals that could be extended. Koleosho has impressed in four cameos and scored the winner at Nantes, 2-1, on 18 January, while Munetsi won the penalty for 2-2 against Marseille on Saturday. Sporting director Marco Neppe led the window with coach Stéphane Gilli, Antoine Arnault and chief executive Jean-Marc Gallot, and Red Bull kept a low profile.
