City’s 1-0 FA Cup final victory over Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday extended a very special English football record we already held.
This success comes 122 years after our very first FA Cup triumph in 1904, when we won Manchester’s maiden major trophy.
That’s a longer gap between first success and most recent than anyone else in the country, with Manchester United second with 115 years between 1909 and 2024.
Of our other modern rivals, Arsenal have won their all of their FA Cups in the 90 years between 1930 and 2020, while it’s 57 years between Liverpool’s first and last and 48 years for Chelsea.
That only highlights the lengthy history of the Club, having celebrated our 132nd birthday earlier this year.
This was our eighth FA Cup triumph overall, with wins also coming in 1934, 1956, 1969, 2011, 2019 and 2023.
In total, we’ve reached the final 15 times across our history.
Under Pep Guardiola, we’ve been the first Club in English football history to reach the semi-final in eight successive seasons and final four times in a row.
He’s won a total of 46 ties in this competition, nine more than the next best in that same period.
Our quarter-final defeat of Liverpool marked our 18th successive home win in the FA Cup, setting a new competition record.
Celebrate our eighth FA Cup success with a special memento from another unforgettable day at Wembley!
