City to host Chelsea in League Cup semi-final | OneFootball

Manchester City will host Chelsea at the Joie Stadium in the Subway League Cup semi-final.

Andrée Jeglertz’s side booked our place into the last-four of the competition with a 5-1 win over West Ham at the Chigwell Construction Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Kerolin, Lauren Hemp, Grace Clinton, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Laura Coombs secured passage from the quarter-final.

Ahead of our tie with the Irons, we knew a victory would set up a semi-final meeting with either Chelsea or Liverpool who locked horns at St Helens Stadium.

And it was Sonia Bompastor’s side who triumphed in their quarter-final tie, winning 9-1 on Merseyside.

As a result, City will welcome Chelsea to the Joie Stadium on Wednesday 21 January (date and kick-off time to be confirmed) with a place in the showpiece at Bristol City’s Ashton Gate on the line.
