City team-mates Kerolin, Ayaka Yamashita and Aoba Fujino all faced off as Brazil beat Japan 2-1 in an international friendly.

Kerolin and Fujino both picked up assists in the second meeting of their nation’s two-match friendly series, but it was the South Americans who made it two wins from two following last week’s 3-1 triumph in Sao Paulo.

Japan struck first, with Fujino the architect for Brighton’s Kiko Seike after a beautifully worked move down the left.

The City winger played a dangerous ball across the Brazil area with the outside of her right foot which was smashed home be Seike.

But a searching corner from the hosts would lead to the equaliser before the hour mark.

Yamashita came out to claim the set-piece, but it was Japan defender Rion Ishikawa who got her head to the cross, inadvertently directing the ball into her own net.

The turnaround was complete with ten to play when Brazil caught Japan on the counter attack.

Kerolin picked up possession after the hosts had cleared a Japan corner and, after racing down the left, she fed 19-year-old forward Jhonson in behind the defence.

And the youngster made no mistake for her first international goal, chipping the ball over Yamashita to earn Brazil the win in Sao Paulo.
