Claudio Echeverri’s loan at Bayer Leverkusen is being cut short after only four months, with the Argentine to return to Manchester City in January.

In a press conference, head coach Kasper Hjulmand said the clubs had agreed to end the midfielder’s loan, adding that is why he will not be in the squad tomorrow.

The former River Plate player has registered one assist this season and played 270 minutes across 11 matches.

He started only three times, including a Champions League outing against Paris Saint-Germain that finished 2-7.

Hjulmand opened the briefing by paying tribute to former Denmark manager Age Hareide, who has recently died.
