Claudio Ranieri has voiced his sadness at Leicester City's relegation to League One as he prepares to return to the King Power Stadium for this month's 10-year title celebration match.

As reported by LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the anniversary game is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, and, with ticket sales slow, only two stands of the King Power Stadium are fully open.

Ranieri will coach a Leicester legends side against an all-stars XI made up of players City faced during their run to the Premier League trophy. The occasion celebrates the club at their peak, though the present backdrop is bleak.

Asked about City's relegation, Ranieri said this week: "It's unbelievable. I will be there in a few days for the 10-year anniversary celebration. I'm sorry to see them relegated."

He added: "They used to be a yo-yo team, bouncing between the Championship and the Premier League. Seeing them in League One really saddens me a lot."

City have confirmed that title-winners Wes Morgan, Robert Huth and Leonardo Ulloa will feature, with Christian Fuchs and Jeff Schlupp among those expected to be involved. Players currently under contract at professional clubs are likely to sit out.

Former Watford striker Troy Deeney has suggested he will be involved for the all-stars. Ranieri, 74, has recently left his role as a senior advisor at Roma.
