Clément Akpa has signed a new contract with AJ Auxerre this Wednesday, September 24, 2025. The Ivorian international is now tied to the Burgundy club until June 2028, extending his stay by an additional season.

The 23-year-old talent joined the AJA academy in 2017 before making his professional debut in 2021. Since then, the central defender has climbed the ranks to become a regular fixture in the defensive rotation. His contract extension reflects the club's commitment to building stability around locally developed young players.

"The Auxerre adventure continues for Clément Akpa. Arriving at AJA in 2021 from FC Metz, our defender has extended his contract by one season, through to June 2028. At 23 years old, Clément already boasts solid experience, having started a career that’s seen him play in every division—from N2 to Ligue 2 and Ligue 1 with AJA, and a stint in the National when he was loaned to US Orléans in 2022-2023," the Burgundy club wrote in an official statement.
