Dastan Satpaev is a player Chelsea are really excited about, so much so that it seems they’re planning to not loan him at all.

Some Chelsea fans are already thinking ahead to next season, and we can’t blame them. This one already feels like it’s only going one way.

The summer will bring a fresh start, and at least one new arrival. Dastan Satpaev is coming from Kairat Almaty, having agreed a move more than a year ago. According to his current team’s owner, he will join the Blues first team for preseason, and stay there rather than go on loan.

Kairat owner reveals some of Chelsea’s Satpaev plans

“He will definitely join the first training camp with the senior team – approximately a month before the start of the English championship. This will be in August, and by that time he will have turned 18,” Kairat Boranbayev said.

“Chelsea FC have informed us that they plan to develop him as a player within their club.”

Things can change of course, but it would make sense given how things have gone in the past few years. While we’re always keen to use loans – especially to Strasbourg – as part of the development pathway, the very top talents (like Estevao this year) are kept at Stamford Bridge.

In other news…

Moises Caicedo has seen his form tail off recently, but it still having a good season overall, as the stats show.

Chelsea have one thing to look forward to – more Estevao. There’s a great story out there today about how the Blues managed to sign him.
