Liverpool could strike a deal for €25m before the transfer window closes. It's not going to be easy to accept, however.
Liverpool have already been about four times busier in this transfer window than they were in 2024. Back then, the Reds only added Federico Chiesa to their first-team squad.
Even that came late in the window and was opportunistic. Liverpool's overall plan was to avoid overwhelming changes to the squad - but things are different in 2025.

The club have moved swiftly to upgrade key areas at every turn. They had clear targets and went to get them, paying enormous figures if they had to.
We've never seen the like, honestly. And that's with some major player sales, too, as Liverpool lost key figures from last season's title win.
The craziest part of it all is that they're not done. Far from it, in fact. Liverpool wan to sign Alexander Isak, while Giovanni Leoni and Marc Guehi could both join.
Even with all of that on the table, another potential deal has popped up. Let's see if Liverpool go for it.
Sport in Spain claims Real Madrid are now eager to sign Ibrahima Konate. Though, that part isn't exactly news.
It's been reported for a while that Konate is their ultimate target at the back. His contract expires in 2026 and they seem an opportunity for yet another free transfer.
That's how they like to do their business, after all. Convince players to run their contracts down and join them without a fee.
Only, Real Madrid do not like their current centre-back options. They're not working under Xabi Alonso and it has them open to the idea of buying Konate early.
The report claims Real Madrid would put up around €25m in order to sign him in this window. It's a lot less clear if Liverpool would go for that.
After all, it's not a lot of money for an elite target. However, it's almost certainly more money than Liverpool will get for Konate down the line.
So we'll have to see what happens here. Liverpool might fancy cashing in on the Frenchman if possible but there's a strong argument that keeping Konate for a year is worth €25m.
