Rayan Cherki is a name that has floated around conversations for years, especially concerning young players who could make it to the top, and with all things considered it is not a surprise that AC Milan have been interested.
The French attacker has been linked to almost every elite European club at one point since emerging onto the scene at 16 years old. Now 21 years old, the Frenchman could finally leave Lyon with the club struggling financially.
As Calciomercato.com write, the French outfit have debts exceeding €500 million and they must look to start repaying that next summer. For this reason, Cherki is an obvious target to retrieve some funds, and the club are open to discussions about his future.
Clubs in the Premier League and Bundesliga are leading at the moment, and it seems Borussia Dortmund could be the favourites to land the youngster.
With Milan’s history with French talent, and even history with Cherki, they may enter themselves into the picture if a deal is feasible. Reports have already suggested they are looking to add a Trequartista, so the Lyon midfielder could be a good alternative.
The report concludes, suggesting that his future could be decided in January, even if the Lyon owner deemed a mid-season move unlikely.
