Cole Campbell joins SV Elversberg | OneFootball

A native of Texas who holds both U.S. and Icelandic citizenship, Campbell joined BVB in the summer of 2022.

In Dortmund, Campbell played for the U17 and U19 teams, appearing in 58 competitive matches for the Borussians’ youth teams and scoring 19 goals. With the Black and Yellows’ U19 team, he won the A-Junior Bundesliga West championship twice (2023 and 2024).

BVB’s Managing Director of Sports, Lars Ricken, said: “Cole is an incredibly talented player with a lot of potential. He made the leap to professional soccer with us. We thank Cole for his time with us and wish him all the best for his future, both on and off the field.”

The U.S. youth international made his professional debut for Borussia Dortmund during the 2024–25 season. In total, Cole Campbell played seven competitive matches for BVB in the Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League, and the DFB-Pokal.

In the second half of the 2025/26 season, he was loaned to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. He took the field five times in the Bundesliga for the Kraichgau-based club.
