Cole Palmer says he is ‘still dealing’ with his injury after firing Chelsea to win over Everton | OneFootball

Cole Palmer says he is still not completely over his injury problems, after helping Chelsea to a 2-0 win over Everton.

The Blues forward scored his first goal since September for the club by opening the scoring at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer missed more than two months with a groin problem but despite having returned recently, he says he is still not back up to full speed.

“I wouldn’t say I’m at my best yet,” he told BBC Match of the Day.

“I’m still dealing with an injury. Hopefully it gets better and better but there’s still a bit to go.

“It is getting better. The stuff I’ve been doing with the physios at the club. It’s just a matter of not doing too much too soon.

“Literally, it’s just a day by day thing. Hopefully it gets better.”

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has also urged patience with Palmer, insisting he is not able to play two games in quick succession at the moment, having left him out of the squad for the Champions League defeat to Atalanta earlier this week.
