Collectif Ultras Paris expels group after pre-Angers v PSG violence

Last Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain’s trip to Angers (a 0-3 win) on Matchday 31 of Ligue 1 was sadly marred by violence between Paris supporters on the way there. An incident that led the Collectif Ultras Paris to sanction one of its groups, excluding it for the rest of the season. That is what RMC Sport reported this Monday.

“Another review will be carried out this summer”

“According to our information, the Parias Cohortis group has been excluded from the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) until the end of the season. This group was identified as being behind the clash that took place this Saturday on the way to the match in Angers. The season tickets of its members have been suspended. There are currently two main conditions for this group to be allowed back: that its violent members be removed and that there also be a change in its position in the Auteuil stand. This decision was taken in agreement with the CUP. Another review will be carried out this summer.”

The door is not completely closed, but changes will logically be needed to regain a place within the Collectif Ultras Paris and at the Parc des Princes. The stadium has already seen too much violence in its history and cannot accept any recurrence. Hopefully, the problems will be resolved fairly quickly so that calm can be restored. There is no place for this kind of tension in football, or in sports in general.
