Como identify Napoli’s Antonio Vergara as replacement after Nico Paz mess-up | OneFootball

Serie A side Como have now missed out on Nico Paz, who will return to Real Madrid and then potentially get sold on to another club. As the lakeside club deal with the blow, they have identified Napoli’s Antonio Vergara as a replacement.

Tuttomercatoweb note that Como have until Monday to meet Real Madrid’s asking price for the Argentine.

But they may have a decision in mind already. Initial contact has been made for Vergara, who missed the last few weeks of the season due to an injury.

Napoli issued a firm negative response to their enquiry but they made a €30 million valuation quite clear. This is seen as a valuation which establishes how important the winger is for the Partenopei, even if he impressed only for a few games around the turn of the year.

Undervalued move

In a way, Vergara is quite similar to Nico Paz. He needs game time regularly next season to further his development and Como are a club which have a plan and can offer him exactly that.

Napoli will make things difficult but the lure of capital gain will force them into his sale.
