The Comoros Football Federation has unveiled Hubert Velud as the new head coach of the Coelacanths. During the press conference, the French manager laid out his ambitions.

Hubert Velud praised the remarkable progress of Comorian football. He stated: "This is a country I have known for several years through its football. There is genuine momentum here, even if there has been a slight downturn recently, but I must acknowledge the work done before my arrival. I am here with the aim of developing Comoros."

The former Sudan and Burkina Faso manager has set his sights on qualifying the Coelacanths for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The main objective is to qualify for the upcoming AFCON. I believe that Comoros' regular participation in the tournament is crucial for visibility and for raising the level of football in the country. It is essential for us to consistently qualify for AFCON.
