A head-turning statistic surrounding the conversion rates of La Liga’s two leading scorers this season has this week come to the fore online.

The race for the Pichichi in Spain’s top-flight of course took another turn this past weekend.

With Robert Lewandowski still sidelined through injury, Kylian Mbappé took full advantage, notching a brace during Real Madrid’s victory over Celta Vigo.

The Frenchman, in turn, has closed to within a solitary goal of his Barcelona counterpart atop the Pichichi standings.

And yet, when it comes to accuracy in front of goal, Mbappé and Lewandowski are actually some way apart.

As revealed by StatMuse, the former has managed to find the net with 14.4% of his total shots in league play across the season to date.

Barcelona standout Lewandowski, on the other hand, has converted at a vastly superior rate of 21.4%, en route to his haul of 25 goals.
