It’s another night of banger fixtures! As a plus, three of the five teams with first round byes will finally enter the tournament:
All games will be broadcast live in the U.S. on FS2.
Kickoff: 7:30pm ET / 4:30pm PT GEODIS Park, Nashville, Tennessee
So, so juicy! At the tail end of the MLS Season these clubs met in FOUR consecutive matches (the final season game and first round playoffs). Inter Miami won three of the four with a cumulative scoreline of 14-4. Miami went on to lift the MLS trophy; Nashville licked their wounds.
Based on their first five games of 2026, Nashville looks as red hot as their famous chicken. With Walker Zimmerman moving north to Toronto FC, the defense is anchored by wily veteran Jeisson Palacios, ably supported by fellow 30+ year olds Daniel Lovitz and Andy Najar. They’ve only conceded twice so far, but admittedly haven’t faced an attack as varied and dangerous as Miami.
Up front, the addition of Cristian Espinoza has given them yet another weapon. Espinoza is one of the league’s best assist-men. Sam Surridge has continued in his fine goal-scoring vein, sitting atop that table with four so far. Woobens Pacius has netted twice in the Cup competition, but whether he’ll play this round isn’t yet known.
Inter Miami might have lost legends Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets to retirement, but they spent big (over $41 million) in the off-season on new signings. Tadeo Allende and Rodrigo De Paul have been fully acquired, striker Germán Berterame was plucked from Monterrey, creative midfielder David Ayala transferred from Portland and between the sticks is Canadian national keeper Dayne St. Clair.
Miami’s performance in the season opener at LAFC was tepid at best, and when they entered the locker room down 2-0 to Orlando the following week they looked to be a very sad sight. But a four-goal rout in that second half reignited their spark, and they went on to a somewhat comfortable win D.C. United last Sunday. Still, their goal differential is zero, with six scored and the same conceded. They cannot afford to give Nashville any chances.
Kickoff: 9:30pm ET / 6:30pm PTDignity Health Sports Park, Carson, California
I didn’t think LA Galaxy deserved to be in this competition, squeaking in as the third place finisher in the otherwise pointless Leagues Cup tournament. That opinion hasn’t changed based on their performance against Panama’s Sporting San Miguelito in the first round, in which they advanced on the away goal rule after two draws. And now they got the luckiest draw of them all, pulling the weakest club left standing, Jamaica’s Mount Pleasant FA.
I can’t say much about the Caribbean Cup champions, other than they were founded in 2016 and their old club name used to be “Stush in the Bush.”

Yes, it sounds dirty to me too. Aside from five Haitians and a single St. Lucian, the team is all Jamaican. In their decade of existence they’ve climbed into the Jamaican Premier League (where they currently sit in 3rd place) and now onto the biggest Concacaf stage, so they’re doing something right.
LA Galaxy’s last five matches have ended 1W 3D 1L. These are poor results by their historical standards. Their one bright spot up top is striker João Klauss, whom they acquired from St. Louis CITY. The Brazilian has scored four of the team’s six goals in 2026. Jacob Glasnes’ arrival from Philadelphia Union has shored up their defensive line from last year’s porousness.
Kickoff: 11:30pm ET / 8:30pm PTSnapdragon Stadium, San Diego, California
Two heavyweight clubs with very different histories will square off for the very first time. San Diego FC is just starting its second season as an MLS expansion team; Toluca just celebrated its 109th anniversary.
Despite their youth, San Diego plays like a well-oiled machine with years of experience. They won the Western Conference in their inaugural season, which punched their ticket for this competition. They had one of the toughest first round draws in Liga MX’s Pumas, and thoroughly punished them with a 4-1 first leg victory. They simply did the minimum in the second leg, losing 1-0 but advancing comfortably on aggregate.
In league play, SDFC are undefeated with three straight clean sheets and eight goals scored. Danish midfielder Anders Dreyer, since joining SDFC from Anderlecht, has recorded 47 goal contributions (25g/22a) in 46 games, a ridiculous average of over 1 per game. Their other players are good, too.
Liga MX Apertura champions Toluca will not be star-struck heading into Snapdragon Stadium. While they’re not one of the “big” Mexican clubs, their recent form has been outstanding. With their towering Brazilian striker Paulihno banging in goals left, right and center (he had a league-high 15 last season, and has 6 already in the Clausura), Toluca are dangerous from any spot on the pitch. Midfielders Alexis Vega and Marcel Ruíz pull the strings and set up the goals.
