Conceição signs new Benfica deal and says he feels 100% prepared | OneFootball

João Conceição has signed a new contract with Benfica, extending his stay at a key stage of his career. The 21-year-old right-back is set for his 13th season with the club.

He joined in 2013/14 from Ferreiras, where he began his football. During his development he also spent four seasons at the Centro de Formação e Treino de Faro while in the youth ranks.

"It was months and months of work. I want to thank the club and everyone who always supported me in the tougher moments. Thank you as well for this great opportunity to start another season with Benfica," he told BTV.

The defender said the renewal carries special meaning given the scale of Benfica, adding that he feels 100% prepared to begin the new campaign with ambition and confidence.

Last season was disrupted by an injury that kept him out for several months. He described the spell as particularly difficult and thanked the medical and coaching staff for their support throughout his recovery. Now fully recovered, he is determined to seize the opportunity and establish himself for Benfica.
